Persuasive Writing - Zero Hunger
About 9 million people die from hunger each year and around 3 million kids are dying of hunger each year.
Nutrition causes nearly half (45 per cent) of deaths in children under five – 3.1 million children each year.
Food waste is a major issue in New Zealand. As a nation, we waste an estimated $872 million worth of food a year.
$160 billion
That’s a humongous number.
That number represents how much the United States as a whole wastes more than $160 billion in food a year.
